Came across this and thought some people mind find this useful.

What do you want in the next 10 years?

List 50 things you want now and over next 10 years eg.

What foreign countries do you want to visit

What skills do you want to master, like a foreign language

A new home(s)

What experiences

Change some habits

Acquire health

New career

What would give you the greatest satisfaction, pleasure

If you could have anything you want in the next 10 years what is it?

Put a time frame on all of them and then categorise them under the headings; community, family, health, job, money, personal, spiritual. You need a balance and yes you must look after numer one = you, but you need to give to receive and give unconditionally and expect nothing in return.

When the “why” gets stronger the “how”gets easier.

Setting goals is what it makes of you to achieve them.It is the challenge that makes the muscle. The thinking , knowledge, skills , determination, strength and discipline you must develop ….the person you must become…to achieve the goal is the real value. Set BIG goals. The money isn’t important (but it sure is nice to have) , it’s the person you become in the process of achieving the goal that is invaluable.

Tip

Buy index cards and write most important goals on them every Sunday evening, identify the 3 most important tasks for week ahead and prioritise and then carry this card everywhere and look at it during the day.Ask yourself “am I working toward my most important goal for the week right now?”

An Action Plan

In these tough times it is more important than ever to plan effectively my own future and visualise it long term which can easily be forgotten about as we get caught up in daily life.

Time to take time out to review , think and create a plan. Some thoughts/questions on how to do this:

Set some lifetime goals

look at biggest challenges/opportunities

Brain storm ideas

Who can help me

Define what “retirement” means to us

What lifestyle do you want for yourself and your family

What hobbies /activities do I want more of

How is our health/diet

What toys do Iwant

What trips do I want to take

What do you want to do before you die

What charities do i want to support

What legacy do I want to leave my children

The better we can describe and visualise our goals the more motivation we will have to achieve them.It is not just about the money , we need a vision , a mission that will enable us to get over all the hard times and kicks in the teeth which seems to be so prevalent just lately.

Certainly budgeting and watching costs has been so important , but also protecting what you have got and making your money get the best return. Banks are treating everyone disgracefully and people and businesses are suffering and going under as cash flow has become a big problem and properties are in negative equity with no buyers except investors buying distressed houses. The future is still uncertain so we are all working harder and looking for other streams of income , nearly survival mode and praying interest rates don’t go up.

Having a plan and reviewing your own circumstances is so important and getting some advice is a must, please make sure you don’t bury your head in the sand but face up to what needs to be addressed as someone always pays the price when risk is ignored.

Design Thinking and Your Brand

Like attracts like , getting what you want in life means you have to think positive , focus on your dreams and goals.Being grateful for the good things , rather than preoccupied with what’s going wrong , will make you more open to possibilities and opportunities.Positive thoughts cause your feelings , feelings cause your actions and its a preamble to attracting more of the same.

Generally if we are happy , we are going to attract happy people. What you put out there, you get back.Like attracts like.It isn’t about walking around aimlessly happy. If it isn’t sincere , it won’t work.

The average person gets controlled by the outside world. But when a person is grateful , it hooks you up to your source of supply , and you are going to attract more good things to you.People who live in a constant state of gratitude attract good things all the time.

When you are thankful , it reminds you of something positive or good that has already happened .Get up every morning, think about how you want your day to go , and focus on good things happening. But don’t bombard yourself with all of your goals.Know what you want and focus on one or two things at a time and then take ACTION.

Who you today and how successful you are is based directly upon what you think you deserve. What you think you deserve manifests itself. Overcoming fears involves taking deliberate action , even small incremental steps which will boost your confidence.

Sometimes your worst day can be your best day if it produces a change. So if the stress of job insecurity is causing you to reassess your priorities and wonder how you can live your life differently , think carefully about your options.

LOOKING AT A BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY

What does it cost to get started?

How long will it take me to earn back my initial investment?

What’s my monthly cost of doing business?

Does the company lay out an action plan to get started?

Is there a market for what the business offers?

Does if offer residual income?

The best opportunities today lie in working for oneself as a home based entrepeneur. We don’t simply want money , we want lifestyle.Want to see spouse and children , stay fit and healthy.Get a big enough why , a vision and don’t stop until you achieve it.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE HAPPY?

What does it feel like?

How do you experience it?

What matters to you most?

KNOW YOU’RE WORTH IT

There’s nothing wrong with getting a steady paycheck, unless it interferes with your ability to earn what you’re worth. And there’s the rub.It usually does.

Security comes with a price , living based in security is living based in FEAR.What you are actually saying is,”I’m afraid I won’t be able to earn enough based on my performance, so I’ll settle for just earning enough to survive or to be comfortable.

Rich people prefer to get paid on the results they produce , they usually own their own business , work on commission. In the financial world , the rewards are usually proportionate to the risk.Rich people believe in themselves , in their value and in their ability to deliver it.Poor people don’t , they want guarantees. To get rich you will need to be paid based on results.

Poor people trade their time for money , and time is limited. You’ll never get rich working on straight salary for someone else.Get paid a % or work for yourself which also helps reduce the tax you pay.Selling is one of the world’s highest paid professions. If you don’t have your own idea , get a franchise or become a network marketer and become a distributor for very little outlay; plus all the benefits with little overheads and admin.
